About Us
The Kelani River, which originates from the Western face of the central highlands in the Horton Plains National Park Peak Wilderness Sanctuary, is the second largest river basin and the fourth longest river in Sri Lanka.
Maps and GIS
The KRMP initiative uses a comprehensive Geographic Information System (GIS) to design, manipulate, analyze and store spatial data. The map and GIS database contains around 100 maps. Explore them for strategic development, education and any other purpose.
Water Quality
The KRMP initiative has a wide-ranging water quality monitoring programme conducted in collaboration with the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Central Environment Authority, the Private Sector and schools.

Reports and Publications
The Kelani River Multi-Stakeholder Partnership has developed and published a number of reports under diverse key areas. The Kelani River Basin Management and Action Plan is one of the key publications. Similarly, this section provides information on other Government related initiatives of the Kelani River Basin as well.
